Why is video marketing the wave of the future? In my seven years of marketing online of many different services and products, I’ve yet to find a better way of marketing than using video to sell your products and services. Video will not only convert your sales online, but it’s the best way to get ranked in the search engines.

There was some research done by Wharton School of Business that showed how online video converts more viewers into buyers by up to 70%. When I think about this I know it to be true because it only makes sense to me that when you add as many human sensory components as possible your more likely to engage a viewer’s interest. So if you’re just using audio or the written form, you’re only using one or two of the components of a human’s sensory map. When you add video, you’re allowing people to visually see what you’re doing on top of hearing what your doing.

The other componet is that video simply rocks when it comes to search engine placement. If you can understand how to do a little keyword research, and you can top that with a great video you’ll be virtually guaranteed to get ranked in the search engines. I’ve gotten a video ranked in the top of Google in as little as 24 hours for major keyword terms.

I’ve also read some recent stats that say that the internet is nearly 65% all video, and Cisco systems recently stated that within a couple years the internet will consist of nearly 95% of video.

If a business is not using online video, they are missing out on a huge market share. This goes for any business, whether a plumbing company or a real estate agent. The people that can get in on this trend fast have a great opportunity to position themselves as experts in their fields and convert more buyers into customers. You’ll want to catch this trend before others do so your current customers get use to you using video before they get use to your competitor using video.
