Working for Money Vs Working Money
Like always I give credit to my mentor Joe Schroeder for this insight put into these terms.
Joe told me that if I decided to work for someone else I would be turning all responsibility over to them in terms of not really allowing myself to be paid what I was worth. Instead, I would be allowing someone else to determine what I was worth.
The ultimate high and key to life is learning how to leverage yourself in a way that you set yourself up to get paid numerous times a day rather than getting all excited once a week or twice a week. The key is to learn how to get paid many times every day.
Plus by working for someone else, meaning you and I are working for money vs working money, you or I will never earn enough. I’m sure you might be asking how that is. Well it’s simple. It’s because we allow other people to say what we are worth.
I read a Harvard research study about two years ago. They placed two ads in the USA TODAY newspaper. One ad said, “Hiring CEO assistant… Basic Computer Skills Needed 50k Call XXXXX.” The other ad said, “Hiring CEO assistant… Basic Computer Skills Needed 125k Call XXXXX.” It was the same ad running next to each other.
What research showed was that the ad placed for 50k was responded to more than 5x more. Furthermore, it was determined that people were subconsciously programmed to believe they are worth a lot less than their real worth. In their minds, they don’t know how to think higher in income.
The key I feel is learning how to use your mind to execute ideas that most of us come up with everyday anyway. The real difference is following through with dreams and goals that you and I have set out to achieve.
What’s frustrating is that some people have actually lost the ability to dream.
Yikes, I couldn’t imagine losing this brain bucket I have that is constantly creating ideas. It’s not people’s fault though. It’s just a condition that has taken over their minds making it accept average ways of doing things. As a result people are stuck generally with average lives.
It’s too bad.
Here’s the final thought on this topic. When you work money the work is done without you being there. Ask Steve Jobs, Oprah or the Trump if they use their hands or their mind to create wealth. |
