Future Thinking Is The fastest Way to Never Achieve Your Goals
Over the past several years I dreamed about the things I wanted to achieve and have in life. I’ve listened to many people get on stages and speak about making dream boards and ways to visualize the things that I wanted. Other than the instant feel good dreaming gave me, it still never seemed to manifest itself on the outside of my life.
I feel that by dreaming and visualizing you are putting your mind in the future which is not really the present of what’s happening in our lives. By doing this it takes you from the now which is ultimately what you could be doing in the present time to achieve your goals.
Future thinking all day long about what you want will only keep you dreaming every day. I feel by doing this your present continues to become your reality. Although it’s good to set and have goals, one must understand that it is consistent action and understanding the reason why you’re doing what you’re doing that achieves them.
We can dream all day. If your why is not strong enough you’ll never follow through with consistent action and you’ll just continue with your head in the future and not achieving your goals in your present.
I feel that it’s more important to understand your why - the reason you’re doing what you do. The second step is to have a set of rituals in place that you commit to doing every day whether your paid or not. If your why is strong enough you’ll outlast the times of not making anything.
My whole point is to stay in the present moment and focus on what the task at hand is in this second. You’ll want to understand clearly why it is that you’re doing what you’re doing. This way you’ll have the self motivation to complete the task at hand and reach your goal. |
